Weather in South Sinai
The climbing season runs from autumn to spring. By the sea in Dahab winter days are mild and sunny; up in St Catherine nights get cold and the summits can see frost and, rarely, snow. In summer the heat drives climbers to shaded walls and early starts.
What you need to watch out for are the abnormal conditions: if you see castellanus clouds building in the morning, thunderstorms are likely before the evening. Rain in the mountains turns the wadis into flash floods within minutes, far away from where it rains. Do not camp or wait out a storm in the bed of a valley.
