St Catherine | Rabba East Face | 2 | 5.6, IV | 5a | 65 | trad | Danny Wolfstein, Giuseppe Gallizia, 1984 | 1984 |
This route was climbed to rig rappel rope for descent from Rabba. Turned out to be good enough for it's own sake. Approach: Start at top of gully between little and middle Rabba and the main buttress of the big Rabba. P1(40-45m, 5.6): Climb easiest line of ascent right of the corner, corner itself is wet and mossy. Belay on ledge 40-45m up. P2(25m, 5.6): Climb chimney in corner or impressive crack right of corner (5.9 variation). Descent: Rappel off piton left of corner, second rappel off piton in the corner (looks like some exciting lines continue up RHS of corner)
